How it started, and why it stuck.
The natural noisemaker
It started back in 2016. Friends around me were getting married, and since I was always the natural noisemaker in the group, they roped me in to emcee their wedding banquets. Honestly, I was nervous. Hosting a wedding is nothing like an oral exam, it has to be warm, engaging and interactive, with real people and real emotions in the room. I was lucky to have friends who trusted me with their big days, and with each one I gained a little more confidence.
When it clicked
By 2018, the word-of-mouth gigs started coming in, and with every new show my expectations of myself climbed higher. The people around me kept telling me the same thing:
"Dixon, you are a natural, just be yourself and you will shine."
That was when it clicked. I realised I genuinely love hosting weddings. It stopped feeling like a side gig and started feeling like a calling.
A calling, not a job
Today I treat this as a passion and a real part of my life. So when couples ask why they should pick me for their big day, my honest answer is simple: you are choosing me for me, my natural, friendly and bubbly self. That is the same energy I bring to every room.
